look at what i got! Clarks Bendables sandals haul from QVC

posted by prettydaysies at 9:07 PM 0 comments
i uploaded this video on Saturday because i wanted to spend time with my sweet hubby...

first, we had lunch at one of our new favorite Japanese restaurants. we both got an "eki don" type dish where it's a variety of fish or meat in a bowl (over rice) and other pickled veggies and the bowl is one where it has a handle on one end. Japanese people ate these types of dishes when they rode on the train because the bowl was easy to hold and you don't have to hang onto too many little things (without spilling or dropping it all over the floor or yourself). i wasn't too thrilled with the dish i got (ginger pork) because it had too much meat and i wasn't too keen on the pickled veggies. i liked some, but not all. i enjoyed my favorite "Washington roll" and my miso soup, and they gave us a little dish of frozen yogurt in my favorite original tarte flavor.

after that, we went to our favorite Asian grocery store and STOCKED UP on roasted seaweed! OMG i love this stuff! ever since i saw Benji/BenjimanTV snack on this on his & Judy's daily vlogs (itsjudyslife), i had to try it. and it's so addicting! i love the salt! LOL i know that sounds funny, but it really makes a difference when you eat the roasted seaweed. i've tried the ones that are less or not salty and they are just no good. you have to get the ones that are salted. it was just trial and error because i can't read Korean... but i think we've found our favorites and they're so cheap to buy in bulk. now i'm craving it again! xoxo Kathleen

what's in my stash? tarte Amazonian clay 12-hour blushes

posted by prettydaysies at 4:37 PM 0 comments
tarte Amazonian clay 12-hour blushes are all the rage! i only have 4 (and i want more!) but i'm happy with what i have, especially since i bought exposed. it is really such a pretty color and i don't know why i didn't buy it sooner!

i also wanted to share with you another video on my second channel... it's not a vlog channel (at least not right now) like the way other beauty YouTubers use their second channel... it's more of a channel where i can upload videos for my friends and family and not feel too embarrassed. LOL i'm not hiding myself from my friends and family on YouTube, but i just don't advertise it. i especially do not talk about my videos on Facebook, where i communicate the most with my friends and family. i just think they'd make fun of me... but i really don't know. my husband's parents both know about my channel but i don't think they watch my videos (but i think his dad does). my local friends know about my channel because i set up YouTube to tweet when i have uploaded a video. i don't know... i'm just scared to post my videos up on Facebook. honestly, i don't know how i would react if they told me they found one of my videos! anyway, below is the video... enjoy! xoxo Kathleen

what's in my bag?

posted by prettydaysies at 6:45 PM 0 comments
just a quick video showing you what's in my bag... this bag from Ann Taylor LOFT is really roomy! when i took it with me to Washington last year, i jammed it full of crap... including my iPad2!

i also hope you don't mind pictures of food that i've been cooking at home. part of my 2012 resolutions is to cook more at home, especially my favorite dishes i grew up. i grew up eating Filipino food at least 75% of the time... we almost always ate at home and rarely ate out. my mom did cook spaghetti and we did have McDonald's and pizza, but for the most part, it was always something home-cooked. so over the past few years, i've vowed to learn how to make my favorite dishes so i can cook it at home for myself and my husband. nowadays i'm the one teaching my sisters how to cook these dishes. i'm very proud of myself for learning how to cook Filipino dishes. my mom is very proud of me, too.

so here's what i made tonight for dinner. please don't mind the wrapper i used when making the lumpia. i bought the wrong one as i was in a hurry at the grocery store. there also wasn't a lot of variety when i looked for it. when i spoke with my mom, she told me what i should've bought and i know what to do next time. practice makes perfect! despite the error, the lumpia was so yummy! xoxo Kathleen

outfit of the day & tiny haul

posted by prettydaysies at 7:16 PM 0 comments
just another quick outfit of the day... simple & casual!

the video where i learned how to make sushi was from ItsJudyTime from 2009! she and Benji look so young! i don't think i watched her that much back then, but i watched her a lot in 2011 and i'm totally addicted to her daily vlogs on ItsJudysLife. she and Benji live in Washington State and when we went on vacation there back in October 2011, i was so nostalgic about Seattle that i had to watch her videos, especially her vlogs, to see where they go. my husband grew up in Washington so when i watch one of their vlogs, i ask him if he's ever heard of the places they visited. most of the time he has! we dream of living in Seattle one day.

anyway, i have to hand it to the sushi chefs. it's hard work! i already knew i was using the wrong rice but i had to make do with what i have. then when it came time to rolling the sushi, i couldn't get the hang of it. i made 5 rolls and they all came out too thick. i know i put too much rice. it does take lots of practice, and since they were so delicious, i know i'll be making this again. i'm sure i can make better hand rolls because that requires no cutting! LOL i think i made about 40-50 pieces of sushi and had about 10 pieces leftover. i got so full!

here's my creation! it was YUMMY! this picture taken with Instagram, using the Kelvin filter... you can follow me on Instagram, too! search for "daysies"... xoxo Kathleen
