even though the Revlon Just Kissable Balm Stains just came out, let us not forget these tarte LipSurgence lip products! they weren't the first on the scene with chubby lip balm products as Clinique started it off years ago, but i think they are still just as good! two noticeable differences: minty taste & price.

i like all the colors i've received in kits, but i will not shell out $24 for one on its own. it's just not worth the price... especially when the Clinique chubby sticks are only $16 apiece and the Revlon balm stains are on average around $6-9 (depending on where you are). plus tarte comes out with kits with at least one or two or five LipSurgences! if you have a favorite color, let me know. i hope it's included with a kit! xoxo Kathleen

yay! my last pre-recorded video from March... i have about 7 left to go that i pre-recorded this month...

i don't have a lot of beauty-related tidbits to share with you today... i've been rather distracted because i just watched the live webcast of NKOTBSB on-line! yep, for $4.99, you could watch their concert from the O2 arena in London, England, UK! i've been to two of their concerts last summer so i've been really jonesing for a fix! since i am not going on this year's cruise or their Mixtape Festival in August (in Hershey, PA), this was the next best thing.

OMG what a great concert! Livebeats hosted the webcast and their camera positions were excellent as well as the audio! the stream didn't freeze up at all during the concert! NKOTB had a webcast a few years ago from Dallas (or Houston) and i didn't even know about it! so when i had the opportunity to watch it this time, i couldn't pass it up! i mean for only $4.99 you could forego a Starbucks for one day, right? it was just like being there but higher up and in their faces. since i'm so short, i had to peer over the heads of the people around me and that made it very annoying and uncomfortable for me. so this was just so excellent! plus, you didn't have to hear all that screaming. i mean you could hear it, but it wasn't as loud as their singing. i actually pulled out my video camera and taped the whole thing! i skipped the intro (which is the best) and part of "Summertime" but i got the rest. as i'm writing this post, i'm watching it back. you can tell i was recording it off my monitor as you can see dust particles skewing some of the screen (not bad at all) and you can hear me clicking my mouse! HAHA i was tweeting with my girlfriends who went to the concert with me.

during the concert, they shared some secrets with us... no new NKOTB news, but new BSB news! they are going to record their new album in July... Kevin Richardson is coming back (after a long haitus)... and AJ is going to be a dad! that's awesome! okay, enough rambling about my long-time obsession... i had so much fun watching it! it couldn't have been better than that... except if i could go on the cruise this year. what's in my stash? NARS cosmetics (and a FOTD using NARS)

i have a tiny collection of NARS cosmetics in my collection. as much as i would love to own one of their blushes (like Douceur), i am holding back on this brand during my "no buy 2012." in fact, i most likely won't buy anything more from NARS because it's a brand that i can't seem to get into. maybe it's the price point. most likely, it is the price point. i could actually do without all my NARS products - EXCEPT - for the smudge-proof eyeshadow primer. OMG you have to have it. it's such an awesome primer for your eyelids.

i do have oily eyelids and even when i use the NARS smudge-proof eyeshadow primer, my eyeshadow still creases on me... BUT my eyeshadow lasts LONGER with this primer. i can't tell you how long it lasts because i don't wear makeup for very long. when i'm not going out of the house, i only wear makeup when i film my videos and then i quickly take it off after i get back home from picking up my husband from work. that's probably about 4-5 hours, give or take. there could be slight fading in the inner corner, but no creasing on the rest of the eye. i give that an A in my book. i don't think you would go wrong owning this in your collection.

other than that, i love the eyeshadow palettes - the shadows go on very smoothly and are very pigmented. i've not used the Laguna bronzer as a bronzer but as an eyeshadow and it's a very nice color to wear on the eyes as well. i only tried the multiple in Orgasm during this video so i can't tell you how it wears on me because i actually put it on top of my blush instead of underneath. i might try it again in a future video. on a side note, i'm so close to 200 subscribers i can almost taste it! xoxo Kathleen

what's in my stash? MAC face products (not foundation)

i'm really enjoying these trips down memory lane when i do these "what's in my stash" videos... i've been so engrossed in my tarte Amazonian clay blushes and Milani baked blushes that i have forgotten about my beloved MAC blushes!

i need to rotate thru my blushes a lot more... i have my tarte and Milani on my makeup table but i don't want to store them in my white cubes because i don't want to forget about them. oh, the woes of a makeup collector! sometimes i wish my collection was like 1/20th this size...

i also tried to record another video this afternoon to elaborate on my no buy 2012 plan, but it went on too long and it would not be interesting at all to watch. so i figure it would be better to just expand on it in a blog post. i just feel that if i share my plan with you, it will help me stick to it better... even though, i do have momentary lapse of reasoning (is that the correct word?) and fall off the wagon again. i want all the pretty things! yes, i did have MORE lip glosses! LOL your eyes will probably bug out of your head while watching this video. i just love BUXOM lip glosses!

we're on the homestretch! two more days to go and then it's April! i can't wait! oh, btw, do you like my lip gloss color? i think these types of reds look good on me. it's not too orangey red or pinky red. it's more of a bluey red or even a purpley red. i would like to find a lip color that is closer to red itself. i just have to keep shopping my stash. xoxo Kathleen

what's in my stash? bareMinerals Pretty Amazing lip colors & lipglosses

these are the new (well, sorta new) lip products that Bare Escentuals released in the past few months. i first received "rouge" or "bravado" as it's now called in the stores with a QVC Today's Special Value (TSV) last year and i accumulated 20 of them! i didn't get them all at once and i believe i've only bought a few of them off QVC when they released them as sets of 2, and because of that, i have duplicates of a couple of them since they also came in future sets.

when they released the lip glosses (which i had no idea they were going to do), i fell in love with this formula! the lip colors are nice, but they're a bit too rich for my taste and style. i find that you have to be rather light handed when applying the lip colors because they really cover your lips. i like full coverage, but i find the lip colors to be a bit too thick. that's why i was so excited to get a lipgloss in a kit! the feel of the lipglosses are really nice (and pretty! LOL) on my lips. i reach for them more than the lip colors, but i still like the lip colors, too. the one i'm wearing "confidence" is a nice, everyday berry color. it's been a few hours since i put it on and it's still on my lips (but it has transfered a bit to my glass). so it definitely has staying power! no need to constantly reapply! xoxo Kathleen

what's in my stash? bareMinerals 100% natural mineral lipsticks

when i started out with bareMinerals years ago, i started with their lipsticks. my very first color was "dubonnet" and i still have it! i don't use it anymore as it smells like old lady lipsticks from the 90s (which is probably when i bought it)... but i just save it just in case i want to buy it again. i really don't need to save it as i keep a spreadsheet of all the makeup i own (and even notate the makeup i've thrown away or given away). yeah, i'm a little nuts about keeping track.

anyway, "dubonnet" was not the first lipstick i ever bought... i know i bought a lot of drugstore lipsticks (like Cover Girl or L'Oreal or Maybelline) before i bought one that was more than $10. at least i think it was more than $10. but i do know that i bought a lot of dark lipsticks back then... like in the raisin color family. i have no idea why! those colors don't look good on me. LOL

anyway, i hope you're not getting tired of watching these videos. i have been pre-recording some haul videos for April. i just needed to get those done so i can record my initial reaction. i'm sure you're all waiting for those videos. hehe. xoxo Kathleen

what's in my stash? bareMinerals High Shine eyecolor

i had forgotten about these shadows in my collection! i even forgot to mention 2 of them (in pots) in the video as well. i remember getting them for the first time and the sales associate at the boutique had the teal one on her eyes and they were SO PRETTY.

they do have some fallout during application so just remember to sweep it away before you finish off your face or before you apply foundation. however, when you apply these shadows, they go on so smoothly and they're not chunky at all. they remind me of the MAC crushed metal pigments actually. i don't own any but i've seen them swatched and they are very similar.

i also actually like the sponge tip applicator. while the packaging/container is less to be desired, you really don't need a lot at all. really, a little bit goes a long way. i probably should've used one of the darker shades to really show off its pigmentation. i hope to incorporate one or two of these shades in an upcoming show & tell video.

 i also received the newest Bare Escentuals kit from QVC today! so i can't wait to test out the golden medium foundation and the rest of the products. that'll be coming up tomorrow! xoxo Kathleen

what's in my stash? bareMinerals stick eyeliners

you guys aren't tired of these bareMinerals/Bare Escentuals videos yet, are you? LOL i'm enjoying making them because it gives me a chance to look at what started my makeup obsession in October 2008.

i forgot to mention in the video that the Big & Bright eyeliners, the retractable ones, are designed to make the whites of your eyes "big & bright." i immediately noticed that effect when i tried Intense Black for the first time. it was pretty neat, actually! however, i don't like rimming my entire eye in black. i'd rather do it in a brown/black mix so it's not so intense. even though i did that yesterday, it's not what i do on a regular basis. maybe if i stopped about 1/3rd in (from the outer corner) so it doesn't close off my entire eye... but my instinct is to rim the whole thing so that's why i don't reach for the black eyeliners (even though i own an embarrassingly huge amount of them).

anyway, i need to come up with a topic to talk about tomorrow! gotta brainstorm! xoxo Kathleen

what's in my stash? bareMinerals PRIME TIME primer shadows

i think these PRIME TIME primer shadows are just as good as the L'Oreal Infallible 24hr or Maybelline Color Tattoo cream shadows. there are a lot more colors out there than i have (and i hope to collect them all!) and they go on just as smoothly and easily as any other potted or stick cream shadow.

i should also tell you that it took me a while to take off this eye makeup! LOL i mentioned this before but i don't really like wearing really black eyeliner because it just closes off my already-small eyes... but i wore it today - just because - and when it came time to remove it with Bioderma, i actually had to use TWO cotton pads instead of the usual one. talk about waterproof eyeliner! i will be featuring this eyeliner in an upcoming video - hopefully this week - before i go out of town.

speaking of going out of town, you'll get a kick out of the videos i'm going to upload. i watched the five that i found and i just cracked myself up listening to myself and watching how i edited the videos. wow. i wasn't very informal back then. i was just all business. LOL it's nice to see that i'm a bit more relaxed now... i like the way that i come across in these videos nowadays. i guess it's because i'm more comfortable in front of the camera than before... then again, the videos i'm uploading were recorded in 2009. oh, and even though i said that i wasn't going to mix in other makeup brands, obviously you'll see that in these oldies but goodies other makeup brands show up, but more than half of the products used will be from bareMinerals. i hope you don't mind! xoxo Kathleen

the fact that it was such a gloomy day, i couldn't justify putting on makeup since we weren't going anywhere... so i made another "what's in my stash?" video showing my collection of Clinique chubby sticks and vitamin C lip smoothies. I love these more than the Revlon lip butters. don't get me wrong... i love them, too... i have way more than one person should have... but the chubby sticks win hands down. 

i like making these "what's in my stash?" videos because i can show you what's in my collection and also tell you what i like or don't like about them instead of glossing over them in a collection video. i'm still not sure if i'm going to make a collection video... but never say never. xoxo Kathleen

i don't think i've worn makeup all week... so it was nice to put some on for a change. okay, i did put some on a few days ago... and then when i did put on makeup, i forgot to put on mascara! oops. i just haven't been feeling 100% so that's why... but i do feel a bit better when i do. so why don't i put it on more, you ask? who knows. LOL

tarte Amazonian clay 12-hour blushes are all the rage! i only have 4 (and i want more!) but i'm happy with what i have, especially since i bought exposed. it is really such a pretty color and i don't know why i didn't buy it sooner!

i also wanted to share with you another video on my second channel... it's not a vlog channel (at least not right now) like the way other beauty YouTubers use their second channel... it's more of a channel where i can upload videos for my friends and family and not feel too embarrassed. LOL i'm not hiding myself from my friends and family on YouTube, but i just don't advertise it. i especially do not talk about my videos on Facebook, where i communicate the most with my friends and family. i just think they'd make fun of me... but i really don't know. my husband's parents both know about my channel but i don't think they watch my videos (but i think his dad does). my local friends know about my channel because i set up YouTube to tweet when i have uploaded a video. i don't know... i'm just scared to post my videos up on Facebook. honestly, i don't know how i would react if they told me they found one of my videos! anyway, below is the video... enjoy! xoxo Kathleen

it's been a while since i made one of these videos... i couldn't think of what to film today because i was still feeling like crap, but at the last minute, i came up with this one. i almost rerecorded it because i was coughing so much as i was editing it, but i decided to keep it. showing off brushes doesn't need to be so fancy schmancy.

so i hope you are having a wonderful Valentine's Day. i didn't get anything for my hubby and he didn't get me anything either... the jewelry haul i filmed the other day wasn't really Valentine's Day specific. we just don't do that kind of stuff... sometimes he surprises me with a bouquet of daisies, but you know, they die. LOL i'd rather have a nice dinner together and watch some TV or a movie. we normally go out for dinner on our anniversary or our birthdays. i can't wait until i can kick this cough! xoxo Kathleen

battle of the taupe/purple/grey/brown nail polishes volume 2

so i feel like crap today... but i still wanted to upload another video... so this one is faceless. after i was putting the nail polish away, i noticed that i still missed 3 bottles! i made a note of that and will include it in a volume 3 which will not be made for months because i won't make a video just to show 3 nail polishes.

my hubby is making dinner tonight (Filipino beef sinigang) and i'm starving because i have had no energy to eat anything today except for a mug of tea and a bagel. i hope i feel better soon... it seems like there's a YouTube bug going around... a lot of YouTubers i watch have been ill recently. xoxo Kathleen

battle of the taupe/grey/purple/brown nail polishes

this video was inspired by Michele/Michele1218... she put up a video showing off all her taupey-grey nail polishes and i thought i would do the same! but first, here's her video:

yes, i know i have a LOT... way TOO much... but i love this color. i think it looks best on short nails. as much as i love having long nails, i get antsy and want to clip them all off otherwise they would just chip or split or snag on something and take off more than i want... and it would be very painful, too.

so i still need to update the description box to list what i have... just keep in mind, i was eyeballing these polishes and kinda sorta measuring them against one another. i didn't even try to paint them because i know sometimes they look different on the nail than in the bottle. so some of them might not even fit in this category. i have some nail wheels that i can swatch the polish on... i just need to stop being lazy! so i hope you like this! i know i don't need anymore nail polish... but i think you can tell that this is my favorite nail polish color to buy... xoxo Kathleen

Hello Kitty Parisienne palette, Buxom True Hue blush, bareMinerals Trend Report collection

so i'm sure you probably think that i cheated on my "no buy 2012" promise, and i guess i did with the BUXOM blush, but for the other items, they were all limited edition, not part of the permanent line, and i did mention that i was going to buy the Hello Kitty one in a past video. i probably should've held off on buying the BUXOM blush, as i have TONS of blushes, loose and pressed alike, but this was the first pressed blush that Bare Escentuals released! i thought they were going to release one under the bareMinerals READY line, but they released one under the BUXOM division instead.

i can't wait to use these products in upcoming "FOTD show & tell" videos. i think i'll also go back in my collection (since i saved all the boxes from my bareMinerals purchases) and use them in those videos as well. there are so many videos using M.A.C or other high end products, but bareMinerals/Bare Escentuals are still so lacking... and they have GREAT products... so if you're interested, you'll be seeing more of these products show up in my videos. i'm actually excited about this! thanks for watching! i'll be back tomorrow! xoxo Kathleen

what's in my stash? bareMinerals / Bare Escentuals READY eye shadows V1

holy moly! this took so long to upload! since i record and export in HD, when you save a file size for more than a 10 minute video, you upload over 1GB and it might take 2-3 hours. today's video took about 236 minutes... and if YT slows down, it might even take longer. i love the HD quality (which is 720p or 1080p)... you can see a difference between 480p and 720p. i will definitely need to record earlier in the day so i can edit and upload before i pick up my husband from work... or else, i'll be sucking up the bandwidth at home when the hubby needs to use it. oops.

in this video, i also talk about my lighting, which always seems to be a constant struggle. i don't have those fancy schmancy light kits that some other beauty YTers have used. i have some Target standup lights (that MakeupbyTiffanyD uses) and some clip lights (that i also bought from Target) but i've been trying to use natural light. my makeup table sits in between the 2 windows in my office. i have horizontal blinds on those windows. i probably should've just pulled up the blinds to let in as much natural light as i can (instead of just opening them), but when i do, i look dark... well, like i'm sitting in a bit of a shadow. i would love to move my table directly underneath one of the windows, but i have a wire bookcase in the way that i can't move anywhere else in my room. i just don't want to look orange anymore in my videos... and it shouldn't be this difficult! LOL

so this is how i'm going to do my collection videos, if you haven't already noticed, under the "what's in my stash?" category. this way, i can share my 2 cents about these products without just showing them to you. i'll also have a makeup storage video, but that won't be coming in a long time... but it's definitely on my todo list! xoxo Kathleen
