CVS & Target haul: lip gloss, blush, shirt, dress, flats

so i'm at my mother-in-law's house now and we're enjoying our time here! we laid out on the hammock for a while and had a delicious dinner, desert, and cappuccinos. now we're settling in for the night... it's only 11:23pm here, but it's only 10:23pm where we live... and we're dead tired!

i uploaded this video early this morning so i could get it out of the way, but based on the signal here at the house, i might have issues uploading videos like i had planned. i might have to do this early in the morning again... or right after midnight. i plan on doing a quick OOTD or FOTD or even try to record in the bathroom putting on an easy look with a little bit of vlogging. we'll see how that goes.

i didn't take a lot of video today because i had a HUGE headache on the plane and it continued after we got picked up and then it just became a dull headache by the time we had dinner... but i took an Aleve and it almost went completely away. i'm sure a good night's sleep will take care of the rest. i hope you're all doing well! i miss y'all already... xoxo Kathleen

collective haul: Skechers, LOFT outlet, Target

this is the last clothing haul from my repository of pre-recorded videos...

i do want to share with you that i got a nasty comment on this video... i deleted it and blocked the person who left the comment. for the past few weeks, i've allowed all comments to be posted freely on my videos instead of moderating them. i've had no issues until today. i got a drive-by comment from someone who wasn't subscribed to me. it was rather mean-spirited. the comment was about my shirt and how stripes would make me look "fatter." i'm not the skinniest person in the world, but i do mind constructive criticism if it's something you don't like or have issues with. so adding "just saying" with a smiley at the end is supposed to lay off the blow of the comment? i don't think so. when i went to that person's profile, there was no profile picture and hardly a bio at all. the fact that this person wasn't subscribed to me meant that this person's comment was worth less than nothing.

i watch a lot of videos but i don't comment on everything i watch. if we watch each other, and exchange a lot of comments on each other's videos, of course, i will continue to comment. there are some channels where i will never comment because they already get so many comments on those videos that mine will just get lost in the mix. i know they will never respond to me even though they say they read all their comments. i don't know how they can. i'm sure their email or YouTube inbox is unmanageable! anyway, i'm more prone to comment on videos where the YouTuber doesn't have many subscribers, or even if they do and they respond to my comments, i will continue to comment because i think it's fun to comment back and forth with people you love to watch.

anyway, i don't know some of these people handle negative comments like these. i know that the bigger YouTubers just leave these comments on their videos and well, you get lots of thumbs down on the comments and comment attacks left and right. i don't want that on my videos. i don't want nastiness to breed more nastiness. so that's why i deleted it. if i see a lot of negative comments, i just X out of the video and move onto the next... or i just watch it and skip commenting. comments can ruin someone's fun... i don't know how celebrities do this day in and day out with the paparazzi in their faces all day long.  i would just hide in my house all day, but then that kind of behavior would be more fodder for the next gossip column.

so that's what i wanted to say on the matter... i love comments, but i hate comments that provide nothing of value to the topic of the video, especially when it's not constructive. i've blocked a handful of people on my old channel and this one. i think you become more vunerable on YouTube than any other social network because people actually see you than just your words. you start to develop a thick skin when you make videos. you just have to remember that people can easily hide behind their keyboards. they probably would never say these words to your face... regardless of that, i don't want their nasty words dirtying up my videos. i think you would feel the same. oh, and i will continue to wear stripes because stripes are fun! xoxo Kathleen

p.s. if you think i'm taking this to heart, i'm only human... but this isn't going to eat me up inside. delete & block... out of sight, out of mind. i know who my friends are. i'm not going to let a troll ruin my fun. :)

LOFT clothing haul pastel-colored capris, cardigans, earrings

whoops! i forgot to blog this yesterday.

i have yet to wear the lime green and aqua blue capri pants, but i will be bringing some of the capri pants/jeans that i have purchased in the past with me on vacation... i think the weather will be slightly cooler over there than here so i won't feel so hot wearing the capris (because they are a little snug upon wearing them for the first time, but they stretch out after a while). actually, we're having good weather today and for a few more days this week... well, good as in it's overcast and it's keeping the heat away but it's kinda gloomy outside to be wearing such bright colors. LOL like today, i wore dark brown capris and a grey/blue top... you'd think i was going into autumn! (which is my favorite season ever!)

anyway, i gotta start thinking about what i'm going to bring on vacation... i know i'll overpack as i always do but i'm going to try to be more sensible... we'll see. LOL xoxo Kathleen

on the go: testing my new universal car dash mount (for my iPhone)

i should've purchased the mount that suctions to the dash, but i got something else and i can't find the right spot to put it so you can see me clearly without the steering wheel obstructing the view. i'm going to keep on playing with it... you don't mind being my guinea pig, do you?

i also need to stop shopping! LOL if it's not makeup, it's clothes, shoes, and accessories. OMG i never used to do this. even when i was still working in the office, i could go at least a couple of years without stepping in a department store or mall. makeup wasn't even on my radar! YouTube made me do it all! LOL xoxo Kathleen

collective clothing haul: LOFT outlet, Ann Taylor outlet, Old Navy

i really needed to get some housework done so i uploaded a haul video i recorded on March 26th.

and after uploading this video, it feels like i didn't even do anything today! LOL it actually feels kind of weird, but i needed to upload this video because it was starting to feel outdated. i actually have a couple older videos than this one that still need to be uploaded, but i held off because the content wasn't really so time-sensitive. i had been talking about my LOFT hauls quite frequently on Twitter so i just needed to do it. and i still have another LOFT haul to upload! LOL yeah, i'm a LOFT addict. it's really my favorite clothing store in the world.

it did feel good to clean my house. i only cleaned the top floor (we live in a 3-floor townhouse) and i was on my hands and knees scrubbing the shower. YUCK. i hate cleaning the bathroom. it's my most hated chore (other than vacuuming) but i did it and now i can relax. i still have to clean the middle floor (which has our kitchen, family room, and a half bath) but i'll probably get to it next week. at least i got the top floor done... i'm there all the time. hope you had a more eventful day than me! xoxo Kathleen

Marshalls and Old Navy haul

yesterday, i was just in a mood... and really didn't have anything in mind to film so i uploaded a haul video i filmed on March 13th...

i have yet to wear these clothes that i bought... i do have another haul video (with more clothes that i bought from Old Navy) and i have worn the ocean-y blue capri jeans from that (in my meetup with Yun/beautybijouxfashion). i washed them, too, and they didn't look like they shrank any. i haven't tried them on again since.

i'm still uploading today's video and it's a fun tag! i hope you watch that one and do it yourself, too. it's also my 100th video upload! i can't believe i haven't missed a single day yet. i'm very proud of myself! thank you so much for watching and indulging my hobby (by watching and commenting). xoxo Kathleen

OOTD & bareMinerals FOTD & meeting a beauty YTer

OMG i had the most fun i've ever had in such a long time. i finally got to meet Yun/beautybijouxfashion today and we went to the mall and met up at Sephora. we also had coffee at Starbucks and browsed clothing at LOFT and H&M and picked up some goodies at MAC (i backed to MAC 12 empties and got 2 lipsticks.). i swear we could've hung out and talked for twice the amount of time, but we both had to go home to our hubbies who were both cooking dinner for us (separately).

anyway, it's been a while since i met someone who had similar tastes as me... like makeup! i mean, i have a few girlfriends who like makeup, but they hardly wear any or they just stick to a handful of brands and so it's hard for me to talk to them about those things. so it was so nice to find someone who has the same addiction to YouTube as i do. LOL

now i didn't know that she lived near me until i watched some of her older videos... and when she mentioned it, it got me curious! i mean, i've met a lot of people in person after only knowing them from Twitter and blogs. i've made lots of great friends that way. nowadays (if you're already out of school), i think sometimes it's almost the best way to meet people because you already have some kind of common interest. when i moved here, i didn't know anyone except for my friend C that i used to work work with. when we moved into our house, i became friends with my neighbors. then i went to a WordPress WordCamp in March 2008 and met a bunch more people from Twitter who were also bloggers. then i went to a few more Twitter "tweetups" and met some more people. other than those events, it was very difficult for me to befriend anyone because i worked from home instead of working in an office.

since i restarted my YT channel, i made it a point to keep up with my comments so i can get to know the girls who watch my videos. i kind of regret not informing my subbies from my old channel from time to time so they could follow me on my new YT channel because i know i lost some frequent viewers. oh, well... this time, i'm doing better and hope to make more friends along the way... like Yun! it was just so awesome how we simply hit it off immediately. it was like talking to a long-time friend... all thanks to YouTube! it's really a fabulous community! i'm very thankful... xoxo Kathleen

FOTD February 26th

yes, i'm still talking about Jordan Knight... but like i said at the end of the video, i'm going to spare you the torture and stop talking about him (unless you beg me to continue!) and make a proper video on my non-beauty channel "hellodaysies."

there's really not much to say except that when i went to Holly's house, we watched Breaking Dawn part 1 and all of the extras. i must say that i'm really impressed with the way they transformed Bella... you just have to see it. see you tomorrow! xoxo Kathleen

collective haul MAC, Target, Sally Beauty Supply, CVS

so i did a little damage yesterday and today but i still didn't go crazy with the makeup. only 2 cream eye shadows and 1 lipstick. :)

i wish we (as non-partners) can choose our own thumbnails... i can't stand the random ones they come up with.

i tried the bun maker and my hair is too layered for it to work! i might have to make my own bun maker because the one i bought at Sally Beauty is a bit too thick. i won't return it because i'm sure i can make it work when my layers grow out. but i wanted to make it work today. oh, well...

also i tried that nail polish remover pad HandsDown Ultra that i found out from Jen/OrganizedLikeJen and wow, it works! i was able to remove all my nail polish with just one pad. it also feels like felt, which is what you need to remove glitter nail polish, too. you can use the foil method, but i think felt is a lot less messier and you don't have to mess with foil and pure acetone. i have a bottle of pure acetone but oh boy, does it stink and not safe to use with my jaggedy cuticles. ouch.

i mentioned yesterday that i was going to talk more about what happened on Sunday but i think i'm going to just make a video of it showing you how i applied the makeup on my friend. it really came out so nice. i wish i took pictures! but the lighting was rather horrible and so it really wouldn't come out true to color. so i'm just going to try to recreate it on myself. she has less lid space than i and hardly a crease so i was actually happy that i was able to make a look on someone who almost has a monolid.

well, i think i'm going to start making dinner... it's just 4:00 but i'm starving and the spaghetti sauce probably won't be ready for another hour to two. see you tomorrow! xoxo Kathleen

clothing, jewelry, and new jacket haul!

oh, boy, how bad am i! i did more shopping! like i need any more clothes...

i had a nice time with my hubby... as much as he hates going shopping (except for a couple of stores), he tolerated every store we went to. i think it's because we went to an outdoor mall of sorts. the weather was great and he didn't complain one bit.

then a few hours later, i accompanied my friend and her daughter to the mall and bought a few more things... this time at the LOFT Outlet! i'm totally obsessed with buying cardigans! i got a teal one and a fuchsia pink one... i also got a white blouse that had a deep V-neck and 3/4 sleeves (i'll also pair it with a tank underneath because the V-neck is very revealing... LOL). i'll probably show these pieces in another video. i wore my new Eddie Bauer jacket the whole entire time and i didn't get sweaty at all. it was so comfortable to wear. i'm so glad i got it!

outfit of the day & clothing haul, etc

just finished watching CSI... i have seen every single episode of this series (and some episodes more than once)... and tonight is Marg Helgenberger's second to last episode. i wonder why she is really leaving... Elizabeth Shue (remember her from Melrose Place?) is going to join the team. i don't know much about who she's going to play (as i try not to read spoilers).


anyway, i spent some time outside of the house today. i just needed to get out. so i did a bit of shopping and showed the things i bought in a haul for you!

i'm a very simple dresser... jeans, t-shirts, flip-flips, sneakers, etc. i have some dresses, but i wear them only during the summer. i don't really like to wear dresses during the fall or winter because i get cold so easily. i would like to wear dresses, but i need to own some opaque tights first. oh, well, the winter we've been having has been so mild that i might wait until next winter to invest in some tights. i have enough pairs of jeans (and some jeggings) to tide me over... xoxo Kathleen
